Nursing Leadership in the Ophthalmology Specialty

Abstract

In nursing science, leadership is conceived as the result of a base of knowledge and methods that support the nursing practice in all structures, as well as in the different phases of the managerial process in the assigned area. In the ophthalmology specialty, for this professional, leadership constitutes a fundamental competence in the organizational structure of the health center, due to the need and premise of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba to have efficient and competitive institutions with a high transcendence in decision making for the development of the profession in all areas of social, economic and political life.
