Mooren's ulcer is an idiopathic, noninfectious, progressive ulceration of the peripheral cornea characterized by severe pain and cilioconjunctival injection, which may lead to decreased visual acuity, neovascularization, and corneal opacification. The objective was to characterize the clinical course of Mooren's ulcer type 2. A review of the scientific literature on this disease was carried out and no reports published in Cuba were found. A patient with a diagnosis of bilateral Mooren's ulcer is presented. Physical examination showed a corneal infiltrate in the periphery that appeared immunologic with thinning at this level and sulcus formation. Complementary and topical and systemic treatment with steroids was indicated. The evolution of the picture was stable and surgical treatment was not required.
